It's all about the kids.
My favorite thing to tell my students when they ask why I teach is, "I came back to give back." I graduated from Hallandale High School and with the help and guidance of many great teachers, coaches and mentors, I was able to accomplish great things. After leaving the NFL, I made it my mission to come back to my hometown to give back that which was given to me. One of our young scholarship recipients recently wrote, sharing her gratitude for The Foundation's contribution to her success and it meant the world to hear that our efforts to assist meant so much.
This is why we do what we do. Thank you for helping us do it.
From Contessa W:
I graduated from Somerset Academy Central Miramar in 2018 as Valedictorian and received scholarships during that time. One scholarship being from the Butch Rolle Foundation. I began my new academic journey at Florida Atlantic University as a Sophomore with a 4.0 GPA. The major I pursued was Business Administration with a focus in Entrepreneurship. Thanks to the financial assistance that I received while starting my university journey, I was able to start my own business while maintaining my studies. I am expected to graduate in Spring 2021. I will be forever grateful to the Butch Rolle Foundation for their support and faith in me. I hope that I can pay it forward to the next generation.
